“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

Before answering the call to be a teacher, Mr. Genson spent 20 years in the medical field as an ophthalmic office administrator. He then earned his Master’s in teaching degree from Concordia Chicago.

During the summers, Mr. Genson travels to Haiti where he supports the Israel Izidor Foundation in providing aid to those in need. In 2011, his passion for mission work led him to bring his then employer to Haiti to donate his time providing eye surgery at no cost. The doctor still visits Haiti every year and has started bringing other surgeons with him, continuing his mission.

Mr. Genson is married and has two grown children who both attended a Lutheran Grade School.

His passion for teaching lies in remembering how difficult being a child can be. Peer pressure and just plain growing up can make for anxious times for adolescents, and Mr. Genson uses the empathy that comes from a loving God to listen to, and hopefully help students grow in Christian faith.

“Never stop learning, because life never stops teaching”.
