COVID-19

March 13, 2020

Dear St. Luke families and Staff Members:

Based on the rapidly evolving situation of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and recommendations from public health officials to limit public gatherings, and the governor’s recent announcement to close all public and private schools, St. Luke is closing the school to students effective the end of today, March 13 through April 5.

Please expect further communication next week. Teachers will be meeting Monday to come up with a plan to continue student learning. More information will be available early next week from your child’s teacher.

Spring break will run as previously scheduled on the 2019-20 school calendar from March 30 through April 3. Additionally, we are reminding all students and staff members, who may be travelling to any area listed on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Travel Advisories with a Level 2 or above Travel Notice, to stay home and self-quarantine for 14 days following their return. This is more stringent than the initial message communicated that just pertained to Level 3 countries.

Thank you in advance for your support as we implement what is best for our students and staff during this unprecedented time. We understand this may cause challenges for some families; however, we believe this is in the best interest for our school community at this time. Please keep in mind that the safety and wellness of our students remain at the forefront of our decision-making process. We will consult with our local health officials over spring break to evaluate when it is safe for our students and staff to return to our facilities. Please expect that we will continue sending out regular updates to keep you informed of decisions.
